William in Cameroun

Created by Jasper one year ago

We visited William and Celia in Yaounde on our way home from Zambia, where we had first met them.  They made us very welcome.  William was applying for an exit visa to go for a job interview in London, and experiencing a large amount of Camerounian red tape.  He took me with him as his French interpreter on his visits to various government offices, and always introduced me as "Mon ami M. Selwyn".  He got his visa the day before his flight out.  After that he always greeted me as "Mon ami".  Whether in Winton Avenue, Ringstead or our house in Devizes, we would always be sure of a warm welcome from William.
